BERLIN. July 16 (Interfax) - The German Defense Ministry has said they had no information that Berlin's supplies of additional Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine have already begun, as the ministry commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's statements that this process had actually started, the German t-online news website said on Wednesday.
"I cannot confirm that anything is currently on the way. I am not aware of this," ministry spokesperson Mitko Muller said on Wednesday.
Muller also said that a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) will take place on Monday to discuss the supply of new Patriot systems to Ukraine. The goal is to find solutions for supplying these systems as soon as possible.
On Wednesday morning, Trump told reporters in Washington that, according to his information, Patriot air defense systems are already on their way from Germany to Ukraine.
